David Eastwood

David Eastwood has worked in the Marine industry for many years. He has served as the Curriculum Area Coordinator and Instructor for the Marine Propulsion Program at NCMARTEC for the past four years and is factory certified in both basic and new technology engines including: Johnson, Evinrude, Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury, MerCruiser, Mariner, and Force. In addition to his manufacturer's certifications, Eastwood is also certified with the American Boat and Yacht Counsel (ABYC) in Electrical and Lamination.

As a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Marine Technicians (AMTECH), he also conducts training workshops around the country on weekends for AMTECH. These workshops are essential for technicians who want to stay up-to-date on today's new technology engines.

As he strives to help create uniformity and increase instructional quality nationwide, Eastwood serves on several Marine Industry Technical Counsel Committees. These counsel committees were established this year at the annual COMITT summit in Tampa, Fla. This counsel will create a national certification and an accreditation for schools across the country.

Thanks to the his dedicated efforts, Eastwood has created a marine propulsion training program recognized for its excellence by the regional marine service industry, the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to special training programs conducted for the U.S. Coast Guard, Eastwood is currently creating a special program for Marine Corps units using outboard engines.
